Ah. The library. It was probably Dennis' second favorite place in the entire college, the first being the biotechnology lab. The time he didn't spend in his dorm or in the lab, he spent here, in the library looking for new books to fascinate his ever growing mind. You see, Dennis had always been on the smart side. Even when he was younger, his parents seemed to know there was something special about their son, and they were correct. When he started kindergarden and most children were learning how to count by twos and tie their shoes, he already knew all of that and was reading small books. The school just couldn't seem to catch up to Dennis' intellegance and placed him in all advanced classes with a special teacher, almost alienating him from the other students. By the time he was in high school, he had skipped one grade, have a perfect gpa, and was already thinking about colleges while other teens were worrying about achne, prom, and sports. Dennis really never took part in the whole 'high school' scene. He would stay home with his family studying on the weekend and during school, he normally sat alone, only every now and then sitting with someone he really didn't care for much. Yeah, he could be labeled a loner during his high school career, and college really wasn't that different. Of course, he did make friends with a few people in his lab, but nothing to stand the test of time or go out and have drinks with. He just didn't see the point in making friends if he believed that everyone would leave him in the end, that just wasn't worth the loss.
Back to the present, Dennis was combing the library shelves, looking for a book to peak his interest, but so far, nothing came even close. He then finally found one that looked promising and he pulled it off the shelf, running his fingers over the dusty cover. He smiled when he opened it up and it just seemed to be perfect for what he was looking for. Just then, someone rammed straight into his back. The person, who just happened to be a young blonde woman, then went off on him, like he had done something wrong. A little confused, Dennis turned around and looked at her with a blank yet confused look on his face. "Excuse me, Miss, but you were the one who bumped into my back. I was just looking at the book, minding my own business," he explained to her. Maybe then she would realized that her out burst on him was irrelevant.
